Disney will just offer Disney Junior on German pay-TV platform Sky Deutschland in future.

Disney Cinemagic will be closed down on September 30, 2019, while Disney XD will be removed from the Sky platform, but continue to be offered by all other platform operators. This was confirmed to Broadband TV News by spokesmen from Sky and Disney.

Besides Sky Deutschland, the closure of Sky Cinemagic will also affect Deutsche Telekom with MagentaTV and Teleclub/Swisscom in Switzerland.

Disney XD will continue to be available on MagentaTV, Unitymedia and Vodafone, in Austria on A1 TV from A1 Telekom Austria and in Switzerland on Teleclub and UPC.

In addition to Sky, Disney Junior can be received on MagentaTV, Unitymedia, Vodafone, A1 TV, Teleclub and UPC.

Following the closure of Disney Cinemagic, Sky will offer its customers the new film channel Sky Cinema Special HD from October 1, on which pop-up specials will be shown 24 hours per day, starting with comic heroes. The channel will be available to all subscribers of the Cinema package, regardless of the reception method.

In other changes, Boomerang will become available to Sky customers via all cable networks – including Vodafone and Unitymedia – and via IPTV from October 8. At the same time, TNT Film will be made available to Sky customers on the cable networks of Vodafone and Unitymedia in addition to the existing DTH satellite distribution.

Love Nature comes to Sky

Documentaries and series from Love Nature about the animal and plant world will become available on Sky across the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Italy.

Under the terms of the multi-year deal between Sky and Blue Ant Media, Love Nature content will be available to all Sky customers on demand and on NOW TV later this year. Love Nature will also be offered on demand on Sky in Germany and Italy.

The move follows a multi-year, international license agreement signed by Sky and Love Nature’s operating company Blue Ant Media.

“Over the last five years, we have commissioned over 500 hours of the highest quality 4K natural history programming with leading production companies around the world,” said Ward Platt, CEO, Global Networks & Kids, Blue Ant Media. “Bringing Love Nature to Sky across Europe is a significant milestone for the brand’s ongoing global expansion.”

Love Nature is already available in Germany and Austria via Amazon Channels.

Telektrikika> reports that his departure has resulted in a change in the management structure of the holding that continues the decentralisation policy approved this January and with a view to make the group profitable by 2021.

1+1 Media will now have a six-member board, with Tkachenko as its honorary president.

SPI/Filmbox has entered into a new three-year, broadened partnership with Telekom Srbija.

As a result, the telco’s subscribers will be offered an seven additional channels, namely Timeless Drama Channel, Fast&FunBox, FashioBox, Erox, Eroxxx, FightBox and 360 TuneBox.

Commenting on the development, Murat Muratoglu, head of distribution at SPI International, said: “Our first agreement with Telekom Srbija Group was a success from the very beginning. I’m pleased to announce that we have renewed and greatly expanded this partnership.

“This August, we are proudly launching our much-loved Timeless Drama Channel and six new SPI/FilmBoxchannels on Telekom Srbija Group. mts TV, Supernova and m:SAT TV subscribers in Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina will now be able to enjoy, in total, 13 of our most popular global channels.”

Marijana Vukasinovic, head of the multimedia content department at Telekom Srbija, added: “Almost every day we are increasing the multimedia content offer for our users, both by producing our own, exclusive content, and by cooperating with renowned global distributors. We believe that the offer of our partner SPI International, will attract many mts TV users, since it is high quality TV content”.
